Pros

Strong financial position and market leader in semiconductors.

This is a tech person's mecca; you will be rewarded for your technical abilities. If they are strong, you will prosper and have the ability to do as much as you can handle.

Cons

Becoming bureaucratic with leaders who do not understand how to manage people, lead, or inspire innovation in software. A "cowboy" development mentality prevails, and a lack of accountability enables poor performance by organizations.

Like any company, be careful where you go, as organizational politics and dysfunctional work environments can limit your ability to contribute.

Advice to Management

Start looking for thought leaders in software who understand how to lead and manage a very human process that is software development. Software is not silicon!
