Unlike almost every other tech company, Intel is dragging its feet with layoffs. Instead of the CEO taking ownership, he slashed everyone's budget and is passing the buck to lower-level managers to make cuts. The problem is now, no one knows what's happening. We keep having all-company meetings where employees are begging for more info, and the executive leadership team will only cherry-pick questions that make them look good. These will be questions about new problems when almost everyone's concern is whether or not they will have a job next year. The feeling is that our executives are leaving everyone out to dry during the holiday season because they don't want to look bad. The general consensus is that we do not have a strong leader, and employees are getting very worried!
Pat (CEO) needs to have a long look in the mirror and start taking some ownership of the situation he put the company in. Intel was hiring like mad when PC demand was slowing and corrected way too late.
