Process

I was asked to prepare a presentation on a topic.

The first 90 minutes involved a discussion with a panel of four people. Most of the questions were about the presentation, but they covered a number of topics, including security, web design, and database design.

After that, there were several one-on-one discussions, each lasting 45 minutes. Some of these involved quite technical questions related to complex fraud processing design, scaling, and caching. Others had to do with team dynamics.

Questions

  • How do you refactor a massive codebase of 4 million LOCs?
  • How to scale a system with a number of microservices?
  • Cons and pros of using microservices.
