Intuit Work Experiences

The program is a great idea but very flawed

Software Engineer Apprenticeship Program • Current Employee

November 29, 2022

Pros: Lots of perks, employee resource groups, good pay, and a broad interest in diversity efforts.

Cons: For the apprenticeship program, it's a great idea, but the amount of support given to aid in your growth depends on whether the manager you are assigned to is really aligned with the mission or not. The program needs a lot of work.

Self-paced environment, fully focused on AI

Senior Staff Software Engineer • Current Employee

Mountain View, California, United States

February 6, 2025

Pros: You can manage your 40 hours of work with full freedom to choose when you spend your heads-down time, which meetings are important for you, and what platform or tech you want to work on. It's a very competitive environment.

Cons: There is some churn in the workplace in terms of multiple teams racing to solve the same problems. Although it promotes creativity and competition, it could unnecessarily waste resources and time as well.

Not the best op mechs

Senior Software Engineer • Former Employee

Mountain View, California, United States

Pros: Good, mature tooling. More and more platform features (messaging, event streaming, CI/CD pipeline & k8s setup, etc.) are becoming self-serve.

Cons: Quite a few platform teams are located in India. So, if you're a Backend engineer, there is a good chance you will have regular meetings with India-based teams outside of business hours (early morning/late night) at some point in your career at Intuit.
