Pros

Work-life balance will improve after spending a few years in the same role, as the work will become repetitive and you can finish it within hours. Few employees are really nice; they will treat you well.

Cons

I worked at Intuit for more than 3 years as a contractor and was one of the valuable assets for them, as per my manager and onsite folks. However, I felt they treated me like a slave and tagged me with FTEs who knew nothing about managing my work or me. As a contractor, you will never get the opportunity to put forth your views or take any initiative and make decisions. I have 10+ years of experience, and they just used me to finish manual work. They will never give you exposure to showcase your work or learn anything.

Less pay for contractors and partiality in event participations, goodies, and exposure.

They work in a master-slave mode when it comes to contractors.

Advice to Management

Treat contractors well. Give them the opportunity to take initiative and even leadership career opportunities. Consider their experience and don't just ask them to do manual work. Stop partiality when it comes to work, as we are all the same. I understand compensation depends on vendors, but work opportunities should be the same.

Your FTs are not skilled (that's the reason you have layoffs ). They can only write code to crack interviews with you; actual work is being done by contractors and onsite folks.
