Automation Test Engineer - QTP Interview Experience - Bengaluru, Karnataka

July 1, 2013
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

My interview was scheduled for 10 AM on July 6, 2013. I reached the venue at 9:30 AM.

One good thing was that without waiting, they took me to the interviewer's room for the first round (Technical).

The moment I entered the room, the interviewer started asking me questions whatever he knew. He was not interested in listening to my words. If I said anything, he would say, "Write it on the paper." When I wrote on the paper, he wouldn't agree with any of our approaches, even if they were correct and the best.

He just asked 3 questions on WebElement. I answered all of them, and then he said my HR would contact me.

Here are 3 points:

  • He was not interested in my introduction.
  • He was not knowledgeable; he was focusing on whatever he knew.
  • He decided my 6 years of QTP knowledge based only on WebElement.
  • Finally, he did not ask me to ask any questions.

Finally, it was a bad experience. I felt like I lost this offer because of an unprofessional and unknowledgeable employee or interviewer.

Questions

QN1. Write code to select a check box in a table for a Java application. My answer: Java Window("..").JavaTable("..").JavaCheckBox("..").Set "ON". He was not interested in this.

QN2. How to select an item in the list box if it is identified as an Edit Box? I said descriptive. He was not interested in that.

QN3. How to click if a link identifies as a web element? I said descriptive, and I wrote code for that also. He was not interested in descriptive.

QN4. How to click the 3rd check box under nested tables, even if the table and check box objects are not identified and are dynamic also? I said descriptive, and I wrote code for that also. He was not interested in descriptive.

That's it. My interview was based on this. He decided my 6 years of automation experience (even though I worked as an Onsite USA QTP consultant in front of the customer) was nothing like that. See how bad it is. What kind of people are working in JP Morgan, Bangalore.
