There are 3 open positions within a relatively new department.
The first interview was with the hiring manager and a team leader. It was unusually a casual conversation about employment history, experience, and personality. They put emphasis on personality.
The most difficult questions were "How would your colleagues describe you?" and if I had made any process/procedure suggestions in my current position.
The second interview, a week later, was with a peer manager in Compliance. Again, it was a mostly casual interview talking through employment history, what I like doing in my free time, and suggestions made in my current position.
The third was a telephone interview with the recruiter on the same day as the second. Again, we discussed employment history, why I want to work for the company, current and expected salary, and justification.
During the interviews, it was stated that they need new hires ASAP. The recruiter said a response should be within 24-48 hours; instead, I received a call with an offer a week later.
I think generally interviews are more structured. I had prepared examples for the skills/knowledge/competencies mentioned in the job description using the STAR method.
Who inspires you?
How would your colleagues describe you?
