HR agreed to release an offer for 1 lac more than my current offer. After three weeks, HR called and said, "We are not getting approvals; we can only offer you what you are currently holding." He wanted to check whether I was desperate because only one week of notice period was left by that time in my current organization. I declined nicely on the call.

After two days, he came back and said, "We got all the approvals and are ready to release the offer." It was a cheap trick played by HR to get me for a salary lower than agreed upon in the HR discussion. It's senseless to join such a company, so I declined the offer.

I am happy not to join JP Morgan.
