Pros

Good pay and starting vacation time. The benefits as a whole are good.

They allow and encourage internal mobility as well.

Cons

There is way too much bureaucracy in the IT space. Most projects that impact several groups will end up getting delayed because one or more teams end up stumbling over some red tape.

Work-life balance is not so good. If it comes to it, you really have to just put your foot down and let them know you're unwilling to put in the hours demanded, or else your personal life can suffer.

In some departments, the offshore development model is very effective. Keep in mind that if this is in place, you will be doing almost 0% coding and will lose some real job marketability.

Advice to Management

Tone down the IT Risk Management stuff. It's nearly impossible to get things done sometimes when you don't have the tools or access you need to do what needs done.
