Corporate culture is sh*t. ZERO respect for personal time. ZERO work/life balance. Your refusal to accept more work, regardless of existing commitments, will result in you being reported to your superiors, regardless of the circumstances.
Threats and coercion will not earn you the loyalty of your employees. The whole 'escalation first, ask questions later' game has to stop. Just because you remove all freedom from your employees does not mean that they will do what you expect.
