It is a big company. Some places do niche work with the latest technology. If you get in there, at least you get exposure to those new tech stacks.
Even if you get exposed to the latest technology, though there are layers on everything and you feel like you are trapped in a box with multiple restrictions for being in a bank.
You can only use wrappers, which they have put on every outside solution like Jenkins, Spring Boot, and Cloud Foundry. Even AWS resources are wrapped in their customized modules.
It is frustrating at some points. But internal mobility is an option, if your manager is not blocking your movement somehow too, which is how I felt when I tried to apply to multiple available opportunities. You end up kind of feeling stuck.
It is a big company, and even if you are capable to join as one level above what you are offered, you are told you will be promoted once you join and they see your potential. Everyone appreciates the efforts and capabilities, but still no promotion or hike.
Prepare to fight for a few years for getting the bare minimum hike and fight for immigration rights, which ultimately get denied. Some managers are really pushy and derogatory, which I believe is something that comes from top management.
It has been cool. Everything went well. There will be two technical rounds and one HR round. You will get an offer within one month. Tech 1 has Java basics questions, and Tech 2 has coding questions.
1st, with associates (Technical), asking about string questions, code review, and the top 10 most asked interview questions. 2nd, the hiring manager (Technical). Both sessions were via Zoom call. They took about one week apart.
Interviewer was very, very rude and hurried. This company set up an interview with me via Zoom three times. Two out of the three times, they no-showed for the virtual interview.
