Company policies, more challenges, and pay is good. Hike depends on manager reviews.

Cons

Working under a bossy and manipulating manager.

Work-life balance depends on managers.

Advice to Management

More management trainings need to be given for new managers (especially those hired externally).

Frequent reminders have to be sent to managers to maintain inclusion, equality, and diversity.

Anonymous surveys to employees about managers/management should also include questions like:

  1. How much do you trust your manager on a scale of 1 to 5?
  2. Do you feel your manager will blame you/your team for their mistakes/failures?
  3. Do you feel valued and treated with respect?
  4. Do you feel your opinions/suggestions/concerns are listened to by your manager, or were you able to present your suggestions to your manager without any difficulty?
  5. Do you feel you or your colleague(s) were targeted by your manager at any time?
  6. Is your manager bossy?
  7. Do you get appreciated for your achievements or hard work?
  8. Do you ever feel your hard work/achievements/efforts went in vain?
  9. Is your manager providing visibility for your work without any partiality/favoritism?
  10. Do you ever feel you are treated unfairly?
  11. Do you feel micromanaged?
  12. Is your manager expecting or asking you to work more than office hours on a daily basis, even when there are no priority deliverables?
  13. Do you feel motivated or demotivated, and why?
