Pros

• Can be a fairly lax work environment with good work-life balance if you find the right team. • The Chase side (like consumer & community banking) seems to be less chaotic than the JP side (like asset management). • It's fairly easy to switch teams.

Cons

• Lots of middle management – the bureaucracy is sometimes very demotivating. • Most of the technology used is slow, probably in part due to extensive virus scanning, but also just inefficient/non-performant code for internal web apps. • Takes too long to get promoted – you need to leave the company and come back if you want to get to the next level. • Mandatory return to office – extensive tracking software is used to ensure we work in the office 3 days/week.

Advice to Management

• Need less middle management and more product owners that have a tech background. • Need more flexible work-from-home capability. • Getting promoted shouldn't be as difficult as it is.
