If you’re a dev for a big bank, you don’t have to worry as much about mass layoffs. But because it’s so big, it’s hit or miss what team you might end up on.
Your manager can really make or break your experience. My first team at JP, the manager was very micromanagey and made my life hell. The current team I'm on, I'm so fortunate for a great team dynamic and supportive manager that values me for my skills and always considers my input.
There needs to be more accountability on managers when it comes to new hires.
