The team I work with is stellar, both in expertise and personality. The main reason I don't move on is the interesting work and the many learning opportunities.
Compensation is average, and senior executive leadership is mediocre and full of hypocrisy, breeding cynicism and dissatisfaction across the board.
The hypocrisy is pretty discouraging.
Before the release of comps, all talk was about how bad the year had been and that we shouldn't expect much, etc.
Then comps were out, and the non-senior executive employees were paid little to nothing, pretty much across the board. Even people who were promoted received less than a 2% raise, not even keeping up with inflation in raises and bonuses, even if their particular business and job performance were good or excellent.
Meanwhile, the senior executives and CEO paid themselves an above-inflation raise and decent bonuses.
Then they made press releases that told the world what a stellar year the company had had. The cynicism and hypocrisy are pretty blatant and not very good for the company's morale.
