Pros

KEY MUST HAVE A GOOD MANAGER:

  1. They will help develop your skills.
  2. They will keep you interested in your work by trying to allow you to work on what interests you.
  3. My team was very supportive.
Cons
  1. The company has a good amount of smart engineers, but overall most management-level people are not very good or effective.

  2. The company lacks perspectives. It feels like a lot of the people in charge have been around for a while and are all buddy-buddy, so it doesn't feel like much innovation happens.

  3. Before work went remote, we spent full days in the Sunnyvale, CA office hearing no English unless I directly asked someone a question.

  4. There is not much career development.

Advice to Management

Stop trying to protect legacy projects. Bring in different perspectives. Create some sort of career development.
