Good work/life balance, particularly during the pandemic.
The handling of the layoffs was disastrous. There was no rhyme or reason, and the communication during and after the layoffs was unbelievably bad. For example, Rami has yet to address the company!
Juniper built up a reputation for treating its employees fairly, then burned that reputation to the ground this week. Compensation has historically been underwhelming, but people stuck around because it was a friendly, stable environment with good work/life balance. I expect to see a massive exodus of talented people in the next few months.
Communicate with employees. Don't just follow some consultants' plan. Firing essential, high-performers without even consulting their managers was a terrible mistake and will send the company into a tailspin.
I honestly don't see any way for current leadership to regain the confidence of their workforce in the near future.
5 interviewer panel. Covering past experiences, domain expertise, and behavioral questions. 1 hour each. No coding questions. Focus on system design and a deep dive into protocol knowledge. Then, a final call with the recruiter to discuss numbers
The interview provided a well-balanced evaluation by beginning with basic questions about JavaScript's inner workings—covering topics like closures, event loops, and asynchronous behavior—and then transitioning to more advanced inquiries about React.
Straightforward process. The recruiter stayed in touch throughout. People are nice to talk to, and the office location is great. After the hiring manager chat, there were three technical rounds. I accepted the offer.
