Lead Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

Don't waste your time with this company.

The interview process was very disorganized.

  • I had a chat with a recruiter first.
  • Then I had to directly follow up (after not hearing from them for a couple of days) on when I was supposed to interview with the hiring manager.
  • Afterwards, the hiring manager failed to meet on the first agreed meeting, which had to be rescheduled.
  • They had a conflict on the second meeting, which also had to be rescheduled.
  • Finally, we were able to meet on the third.

The hiring manager asked generic questions about past work/challenges, what you want to do, what the ideal company for you is, etc.

In the end, there was no follow-up other than an automated email saying they didn't think I was a good fit.

If they're too "busy" to follow up and ghosted you a few times, it's not a good company to work for, indicating disorganization and probably no work/life balance.

I should have withdrawn after being ghosted the first time.

Candidates, beware!
