Pros
  • Late-stage startup (pre-IPO) with money in the bank and enough runway to survive a downturn in the economy.
  • Proactive salary adjustments.
  • Competitive pay compared to other late-stage startups.
  • Managers who are actively trying to help grow your career.
  • Free book policy where books, ebooks, audiobooks, and subscriptions are expensible.
  • Great interview style with actual algorithms to be solved, rather than LeetCode-style algorithms.
  • Great work-life balance.
  • Teams that are filled with really smart people.
  • Actively trying to be more diverse and celebrating diversity with different ERGs like LGBTQ, AAPI, Black, Latine, Parents, etc. This also includes hiring people with non-traditional backgrounds! Within Engineering, diversity is increasing, and it is a continual goal and metric that is recorded and shared with the team.
Cons
  • Diversity: There's always more work that needs to be done for diversity, mostly as it goes up the chain; i.e., C-suite and execs are often not too diverse (but this is generally a problem across tech).
  • Health insurance is great, but not 100% (smaller startups offer 100% coverage).
