I had a phone screen interview with a junior engineer. He presented me with two coding problems.

When I explained my solutions before coding, he offered no feedback, making it feel like I was speaking to a wall. I completed both problems with working solutions on time, and they were correct with good time complexity.

However, when I had to explain the code, he seemed to struggle with understanding simple conditions and recursion. He did not provide any feedback on either solution.

After the interview, I checked my code and ran some tests; both problems were resolved correctly.

The next day, I received an email stating I would not continue with the process.
