Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

The interview process was classical: a phone screen followed by an on-site interview.

The phone interview involved two interviewers, one senior and one mid-level engineer. Unusually, the mid-level engineer led the technical questioning.

I provided very short answers to the first two questions and was subsequently rejected. I believe I should study Assembler and networking further to pass the LinkedIn interview in one year.

Questions

TCP, UDP: What are they and what is the difference?

Tell me about virtual memory. What is it used for?

What do you know about inner classes?

Coding problem: Reformat input string.
