Priorities are too stringent and may allow less urgent tasks to slip, which will have negative consequences on the future. Direct management has the final opinion and can derail other efforts underway. Business politics can get in the way of work. Too much travel.
Trust but verify. Trust your engineers and verify that the work is getting done to meet or exceed your expectations.
Also, you're going to lose a lot of employees due to your COVID and remote work policies.
