Engineering Manager Interview Experience - Toronto, Ontario

Process

My interview experience with Lyft was nothing short of a nightmare. The interviewer arrived a whopping 10 minutes late, without a hint of remorse or apology. As if that wasn't enough, she spent the next few minutes fumbling with her camera and adjusting herself, showing a complete lack of preparedness and professionalism.

Once the interview finally started, it became painfully clear that the interviewer had no interest in being there. She sat back in her chair with an air of arrogance, as if she was doing me a favor by gracing me with her presence. Throughout the entire round, she couldn't even muster a single apology for her continuous yawning, which made it nearly impossible for me to focus.

Her lack of attention was palpable, as she asked the same mundane questions over and over again. It was abundantly clear that she couldn't care less about what I had to say.

This experience left me utterly disheartened and disgusted. I had hoped to find a supportive and collaborative environment at Lyft, but instead, I was met with disrespect and disdain.

Encountering such a toxic individual has made me seriously question whether I would even want to be associated with a company that tolerates such behavior. Experiencing this kind of treatment by Lyft for prospective employees, I made up my mind to withdraw my application.
