Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

A recruiter reached out to me and conducted a mock interview, which led to a first-round interview involving a LeetCode-style question. From there, I progressed to the final round, which consisted of three hours of video interviews.

This included:

  • A behavioral fit interview
  • A guided take-home question building a piece of software from the ground up
  • Another slew of LeetCode questions

Following this, they requested an extra round, which was a take-home Byteboard assessment. This was the worst experience I've ever had in my life. The assignment was confusing, had an incredibly short timeframe, and offered no way to ask clarifying questions.
