Tech Lead Interview Experience - Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico

Process

I was contacted via LinkedIn, applied, and got an interview with HR to discuss my work experience. HR then outlined the three main stages:

  • A coding interview.
  • An onsite stage (conducted remotely) that includes a coding interview, a system architecture interview, and a behavioral interview.
  • A manager interview.

Previously, I had the opportunity to interview for a FANG role, and the style was similar. I reached the coding interview stage, where the interviewer spent about five minutes asking about work experience, with the rest of the time dedicated to a coding challenge. Failing to provide a correct, optimized solution and not sharing your thought process will result in not passing.

I did not manage to share a correct answer and expected not to pass, which proved correct as I received a rejection email two days later.

The benefits and salary offered are above the Mexican market average, suggesting that studying and preparing extensively for this type of interview is worthwhile.
