Process

The interview process was a little difficult for an entry-level job seeker. There are 4 rounds in the interview process: a 15-minute discussion with HR, followed by a HackerRank coding challenge, then a technical phone interview, and finally, the onsite interview. A good understanding of programming language concepts is very important for this interview.

Questions

The first round of the interview was a 15-minute discussion with HR. I was asked about my current visa status and about a situation where I multi-tasked.

The second round was a 1-hour hackerrank coding challenge. The challenge was based on any two programming languages that I am comfortable with; I chose Java and JavaScript. There were a few multiple-choice questions and two coding questions in each section.

One Java coding question was to reverse a string using hashmaps. JavaScript had questions related to web development. The multiple-choice questions were select-one-or-more type questions.

The third round was a phone interview for around 45 minutes, where there was screen sharing. The interviewer posted a few code snippets and asked questions based on specific statements in the code.

In C++, there were questions regarding copy constructors and whether a particular statement based on the '=' operator would compile or not. In Java, there were questions based on a base class reference pointing to a derived class object, garbage collection, and enums.

The next round would be an onsite interview.

Unfortunately, I did not get through the third round.
