Pros: Good work culture, products that touch many lives. Core values, good work-life balance.

Cons: EDG in India is quite poor. Students from premiere institutions are recruited and told they can make a career in their respective fields, but this is not true. Once a fresher joins, he/she will come to know there are no choices to make as such. There are only 5 departments and no core roles. Very few openings make transfers for EDG very difficult. Getting stuck with a support profile is the worst thing that can happen for a career, especially for engineers from top-notch institutes. Only a few technologies are helpful for a long-term career outside MathWorks. Managers from other departments recruit people from outside; even freshers are recruited, which calls the EDG model into question. People don't leave because they are left with no choice, but rather stay in EDG. During recruitment, students are not told the truth about the career opportunities.

Pros: 1. Core values - The company has core values that resonate with mine. This is a company where core values are not just a poster but something that you can see everywhere. Check the list on the company website. 2. People - great, genius people around, always ready to share. 3. Products - The products are what makes this place awesome. Knowing that we make a difference in pushing the boundaries of human knowledge.

Cons: Slightly more cautious than what I like, but since that ensures profitability, I am okay.

Pros: Challenging and exciting environment, full of smart people extremely passionate about their jobs. The company is based on solid principles; nothing is left to chance, from the internal organization to the development of the software. Possibility of working on different things and acquiring domain knowledge from different fields.

Cons: After six months, I can hardly say there are any cons. Probably the salary (compared to other software companies) is the biggest con one can expect.
