I applied online and, after several weeks, was contacted by HR for an initial phone interview. They asked basic questions, such as my knowledge of the job and my reasons for wanting it.
After that, I was sent a HackerRank assessment. The questions were easy and required me to choose two languages to code in.
Following the HackerRank, I was contacted for an initial technical phone interview, which was mostly conducted by recent Application Support Engineers at Mathworks. It was an average-level interview with coding and conceptual questions on the two chosen languages, as well as math and design-related questions (based on the topics I selected).
Then, I was invited for an onsite interview. This included a repeat of the technical phone interview, along with two HR rounds. There was also a "lunch" with two senior engineers, which, I later learned, was indirectly an interview.
Everything went well, and I felt confident, but I did not receive an offer. I asked for feedback but received no response.
