Process

I was first contacted by HR.

I was asked the normal set of questions on time management, strengths & weaknesses, and conflict resolution.

The technical phone interview was set up for two weeks later. I chose C, MATLAB, signal processing, and math.

For the math section, I was asked questions on linear algebra, differential equations, differentiation, and integration.

MATLAB, C, and signal processing I had prepared by looking at interview questions recorded by previous reviewers. I studied concepts relating to those topics.

The phone interview was quite simple.

The on-site interview had a mix of puzzles, coding, and in-depth questions on signal processing.

I had seen the puzzles before in the "Programming Interviews Exposed" book.

The signal processing concepts asked were too basic, and I did not remember how to do some of them.

The interviewer was nice and patiently gave me hints.

After the technical interview, the hiring manager drilled me on behavioral questions for about an hour.

Next was lunch with two current ASEs at their cafeteria.

Following that was the HR interview, where they detailed the offer.

Questions

A question on time scaling and shifting of signals arose during the on-site interview. I made a novice error.
