Process

I had a HireView interview. With HireView, you get all the questions from Glassdoor, then a coding challenge (like reversing a string using Python), and then a phone interview. I am going to describe the phone interview.

Questions

I chose Java.

  1. Difference between ArrayList and Vector: Which is more memory-efficient?
  2. Suppose two threads are trying to access a resource. How would you make that possible without using semaphores?
  3. Design a Restaurant class. Which design pattern did you use, such as Singleton or Factory Pattern?
  4. Gave me a code snippet and asked about the output.

Python was easier.

Gave me a code snippet: S = "Joyce" S[0] = "K" print S
