Process

A couple of weeks ago, I dropped my resume off at the career fair on campus and started my application on the laptop they provided. Then, I received an email asking me to set up a time to talk on the phone, and that began the interview process.

  1. Phone Interview: They asked about my availability, why I was interested in MathWorks, and what I knew about the job. We then scheduled a time for me to attend one of their College Days. That's where the rest of the interviews took place.

  2. Technical Interview: This was mostly in line with previously posted interview questions. The only difference for me, and a couple of other attendees at the college day, was the absence of a Math section. This might have been because I took a bit longer on some questions in the other sections, but I'm not certain. The sections for me were Signal Processing, C programming (mostly general programming), and MATLAB.

  3. Manager Interview: This also aligned with what was posted before. It was a behavioral interview, intended to ensure a good fit with the existing team.

  4. HR Interview: There was some overlap with the manager interview, but they also covered benefits and health insurance.

Overall, the experience wasn't too bad. They included presentations from managers and an experienced ASE, which was helpful in understanding the potential career path. For lunch, two application support engineers took us out and answered more questions. It was an exhausting day, so if you're attending, make sure to get plenty of sleep beforehand.

Questions

I just forgot silly, easy things.
