Process

  1. HireVue and HackerRank. The HackerRank had 5 math questions (think discrete math, probability, combinations, etc.). Then a choice of: ~45 MATLAB multiple-choice questions or a LeetCode question. The MATLAB questions asked you to identify the outcome of code snippets or covered theoretical aspects of the language.

  2. Phone screening. This was pretty straightforward: a chat about your resume and demonstrating knowledge of the role and company. It's not too serious.

  3. Remote Onsite:

  • A 1:45-hour technical interview. This interview was led by someone currently in EDG, a younger person. They asked technical questions about your resume, some specific questions about your domain, then LeetCode questions. This was true even for engineering majors applying; they will ask coding questions regardless of your major. One of my questions was in MATLAB, and another was in Python.
  • A 45-minute behavioral interview with a manager and HR. The manager asked a bit more about technical details, while HR was entirely focused on behavioral questions.
