The interview process consisted of three rounds:
- The first was a quick phone screen with HR.
- The second was an hour-long conversation with the hiring manager.
- The third was a three-hour interview with three people, including a technical interview.
Questions
Using MATLAB to manipulate data, graph data, and use logical vectors.
Basic Linear Algebra:
- Finding the inverse of a 2x2 matrix
- Finding eigenvalues

Pros: Mathworks provides a very nice work environment for employees. The atmosphere is joyful!
Cons: EDG intern projects can be better assigned. I was good at A, but I was assigned to a project using B. It could be just me, though.

Pros: 1. The company makes a well-known, widely used product.
2. The offices in Natick are really nice, with a nice cafeteria and gym on-site.
3. Good benefits, such as a 6/6 401k match.
Cons: 1. Ridiculous management: The process is so loaded down and wastes obscene numbers of engineer-hours in forms. There are two entirely separate tracking systems that have to be filed for every new feature.
2. Silly performance review process that uses bad tools. It takes forever to fill out the badly designed self-review form, and no one looks at it anyway.
3. Salaries 20-30 percent lower than industry average.
