Process
The recruiter that reviewed my resume was skeptical that it was true. They made an offer to me that matched my salary ten years ago when I graduated from college. This place has absolutely the worst recruiters that I've ever had to deal with in my entire career. Don't feel bad if you don't get into this place, you probably dodged a huge mistake. It reeks of mediocrity.

A great place to start, but not so much to stay for long

Pros: It's a great place to start or end your career. It's a very slow-paced but extremely supportive environment. There's free food and a gym membership, but I'm not sure how long that will last.
The problems are very engineering in nature.
Cons: Very slow-paced and full of old dinosaurs who are far from reality.
Trying hard to keep up with open-source tools. Salary is not very competitive compared to other tech companies, but they compensate it with perks and WLB.
A lot of unnecessary business jargon to deal with. Moving up the ladder is hard and is solely based on high performance over a long period of time. It can take a lot of years to get a promotion.

Not the usual big corporation values

Pros: MathWorks' private ownership allows it to prioritize things which aren't often present in big software companies, like employee satisfaction and concerns. I was worried about finding an employer with priorities I could get behind, and I'm thrilled I found one.
Cons: With size comes inertia. MathWorks doesn't have the daily/weekly deploys or releases you'll find at smaller/newer companies. Significant change can involve months of wrangling consensus and gathering approvals.
