I applied online and was contacted by the hiring manager.

First, I replied to a long email filled with questions regarding my personal experience with this position.

Then, there was a phone call from the hiring manager asking more about my background.

Next, I had a technical interview with a team member, which included questions about machine learning and C++ knowledge. No coding was involved yet.

My phone connection was breaking on and off, making the interview not very smooth. I could tell the interviewer became very frustrated with it.

I struggled with a design pattern question but, overall, answered most of them.

I haven't received any further news since then.
