Software Engineer Interview Experience - Boston, Massachusetts

Process

I was contacted by their team lead for the interview. I had a one-hour long interview with him, and it was all technical. Then, at the end of the call, he said that he would like me to speak to his manager.

Next week, I got a chance to talk to his manager, and again, this was completely a technical round for over an hour.

Then, after a week, I got an email from the recruiter (I really want to take his name so that he can read it), but anyways, this is the point where the negative experience starts.

He called me 20 minutes after his scheduled time, and on top of that, he was not apologetic and was rude while he was talking. He said that they liked me, but they had a few more candidates they were reviewing, so they would get back to me soon.

For a little over one week, there was no response, so I sent him a follow-up email, to which he replied, "I will get back to you in the later part of next week."

I waited for the so-called "later part," but he never replied. Then I sent another follow-up email, and as always, there was no response at all.

At last, I just want to say that if this is the way Mathworks works, then they need to introspect. They should know that candidates are human beings, and they should learn to give them some respect at least.
