Process

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks.

Overall pretty standard. There was a bit of a strange technical interview, but strange in a mostly good way. You're given data and need to devise a system to process it, after which a pair code review is performed.

The people & culture interviews were mostly pretty good too. The "tell me about a time when"s were a little vague, with lots of the questions being branched. I couldn't tell if this was due to inexperience or they legitimately wanted to make things easier incase I didn't have a lot of examples, but I think it made some of the interviews a little less focused and hard to ascertain which answers and thoughts they were most interested in.

That was the absolute worst of it, so like I said, pretty good overall. Everybody was incredibly nice and gracious about my own timing. The recruiter was uniquely helpful in ensuring my success as best he could—I just wasn't the perfect fit in the end.

Questions

• How would you interpret X data to achieve Y result? • How would you extend your code to account for Z? • Tell me about a time when you had an overperforming or underperforming report.
