Process
I was contacted by a recruiter a month ago. A phone screen was conducted last week. It included some SQL and some Python coding. The onsite interview is in two weeks. It will include data modeling and SQL/ETL, as well as a behavioral round. The recruiter has been very helpful.
Questions
Write a function to count the number of times each character appears in a string and rewrite the string in that format. For example, "I am back." should become "i1 2a2m1b1c1k1.1".
Match all words in a document against a name dictionary and anonymize them using a hash.
SQL questions involved:
- Lots of WHERE, GROUP BY, and HAVING clauses, along with subqueries.
- Many somewhat tricky joins, one of which required a self-join.
