Junior Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

After a mild phone interview through a recruiter and an easy engineer screening, I was flown down to San Francisco for a series of in-person interviews. This included two nights in a hotel, free flights, and sightseeing expenses.

The interview itself was a brief tour of the campus, followed by a session in a room with a whiteboard and five rounds of interviewers.

I didn't get the job, which I attribute to a very nervous first two interviews, despite what I thought were great later ones. The team lead even showed up for the fifth, which turned into a great chat.

The format was solid, and I just wish I'd been less nervous and more accustomed to coding in front of people. It seems you need to do well on all fronts to get the job.

Be warned!

Questions

Write the code to reverse each word in a string in-place. Describe it in Big O notation. (I can't remember, but I believe there were additional twists thrown in too.)
