I was contacted by a Facebook recruiter on LinkedIn. The interview was set up one month later. The recruiter called me, asked how comfortable I was with programming, and sent me preparation material.
Although the post was for an ML software engineer, the expectation was for all engineers to program algorithms and data structures, such as:
- Arrays
- Trees
- Quicksort
- Radix sort
- Heaps
- Hashes
Questions
Q: Give me an example of a project where you used data and machine learning.
Q: Given a binary tree, write a function to find if this tree is a search binary tree or not.
Q: Given an array, write a function that returns a samples from the array.

Comme la part des actions gratuites dans la rémunération augmente avec l'expérience, l'écart avec les US est plus important pour les juniors que pour les seniors. Levels.fyi a les bons ordres de grandeur, mais il faut faire attention : la plupart des chiffres donnés sont pour les US. Par rapport aux entreprises françaises, ce sont des rémunérations extrêmement intéressantes (facilement 2x-3x plus).
