I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks.
There are 2 main rounds, and you schedule the interviews together.
- The first round is PE Basics & Coding. PE Basics is a conversation, and coding is a typical CoderPad assessment.
- Then there's a LeetCode round, behavioral, and systems.
Questions
The first round was the typical "walk me through what happens when you go to a website" for PE Basics. Based on information online, I was expecting PE Coding to be a general coding interview to design a script to do something. Instead it was two LeetCode questions, and I had prepared the wrong material.

Pros: The culture is very open and honest, and the heavy use of groups internally keeps everyone accountable to others. Company-wide Q&As also keep the management team transparent.
The work you do is high impact, and products iterate quickly.
Hackamonths actively encourage engineers to try a different team occasionally.
There are lots of opportunities to continue learning, like training for iOS and Android development.
Cons: Work/life balance can be tough, depending on the team. This is up to personal preference, though, and many teams (especially those in infrastructure) have more stable projects.
Coasting doesn't work here; you always have to be actively improving and not rest on laurels.
