Software Engineer New Grad Interview Experience

Process

First round coding interview. The interviewee introduced the following process and himself, then a coding question was given. It was similar to recursively removing all adjacent repeating characters from a string.

I did it too slowly. Other interviewees shared that there should be two coding problems in one interview, but I ended up only having one problem asked.

The platform they used was not an IDE. The code could not be run. You needed to explain what was going on line by line, with examples.

Five minutes before it ended, the interviewee stopped me from coding and asked me to give questions for him.
