Pros: - A lot of great people to work with from all over the world, having a wide range of talents. - The compensation is quite good, especially taking into account the stock appreciation.

Cons: - Constant change of priorities; planning is a joke. - As an engineer, you're lucky if you can work on engineering problems 20% of your time. The rest will be paperwork and useless meetings. - In-house tools are garbage and constantly break, slowing you down. - Ultimately, you are not doing your work to improve things; you are earning "self-review points". - Management is incompetent and often making your life worse on purpose. - Extremely political. Simply doing your job well is a guaranteed way out of the company in many orgs.

Pros: - Pay is top of market. - Coworkers are very smart. - RSUs are very competitive and performed well in my time there.

Cons: Extremely political, with lots of people playing games to try and take credit for others' work or push blame around. At review time, one person deciding they don't like you can claim that you hurt their feelings one time, and based on anecdotal evidence alone, kill your promo or lower your rating. You are constantly walking on eggshells. Code quality tends to be poor. To be fair, the product isn't exactly critical to the day-to-day operations of the world, and Facebook being down for a few hours isn't going to kill anyone. Teams focus on getting products out as quickly as possible with little concern for quality or maintainability. There is no QA department, and you will not be rewarded for taking extra time to make your project high quality.

Pros: High compensation, super intelligent co-workers.

Cons: Stressful work, lots of imposter syndrome.
