Software Engineer Interview Experience - Washington, District of Columbia
Process
H.R. contacted me and scheduled a phone screen pretty quickly. I was expecting some algorithm questions but did not really prepare much. The interviewer was quite friendly but asked a question I had never seen before. I figured out a solution that did not work in all circumstances.
I still do not quite agree with this type of algorithm-only interview, especially for individuals with 5+ years of experience and families/kids. Since these algorithm questions are not used during day-to-day work, it is quite difficult to spend that much time practicing on LeetCode.
