Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience - Los Angeles, California

October 1, 2017
Neutral ExperienceNo Offer

Process

I applied through the college career fair.

I received an email for an on-campus interview.

It was a 45-minute interview where two questions were asked.

We had a pre-networking event with the hiring managers to understand their work.

The coding round focused primarily on problems and solutions, with no additional discussion. The interviewer provided guidance when needed.

Questions

Given a Fibonacci series, write code to return the element at the nth index.

Given a string of numbers, where each number maps to a character (e.g., 1 maps to 'a', 2 maps to 'b', ..., 26 maps to 'z'), find all possible character strings that can be generated from this numeric stream.

Example: 1226 generates 5 strings: abbf, abz, avf, ...
