Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience - Menlo Park, California

Process
There was one in-person interview on campus, followed by one on-site interview. The first interviewer seemed interested in talking to me, but the second one could barely communicate. The recruiter was super nice, and it was nice getting to know the Facebook campus.

Learn Lots, Manage Easy
Software Engineer • Former Employee
Menlo Park, California, United States
April 14, 2017
Pros: Competitive compensation package if you join the company at the right time (when stock price is low). Otherwise, it won't be too attractive unless you are E5.
Lots of things to learn in the company, with good benefits.
If you can get a management role, you will be in heaven. Most managers have a very easy life; they only need to care about their team not getting downsized in the political wrestling.
Cons: Manager turnover rate is too high. I've had 8 different managers in three years. Some areas have a lot of politics; watch who is the head of that department.
Instagram and Messenger have a pretty bad culture at this moment.
There's literally no life when you want to get good performance review ratings.
