Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience

Process

I applied through a referral, and a university recruiter reached out to me and scheduled the first round.

During the first round, I was asked two questions (20 minutes each). The difficulty of these questions was between LeetCode medium and hard.

After that, there was a second round called "virtual onsite round." The difficulty of the questions in this round was LeetCode medium. The interviewer was pretty much unresponsive during this round, but I found it to be relatively easier compared to the previous round.

I was able to solve both questions in the second round, but I missed a major edge case. Perhaps that is why I was rejected.

Questions

  1. Find the smallest substring having a certain set of characters.

  2. Find the product of all the subsets of a given set of numbers.

I can't tell you about the other two questions that were asked in the second round as I've signed an NDA with Meta.
