Most of the managers try to send the pressure down to the engineers, and the management is not very clear about the goals. It feels like the company doesn't know what to do next or what to expect next.
Managers don't care about personal emergencies. Come what may, you are expected to complete the job within the deadline.
Cut down the benefits and bring down the salaries, rather than laying off people.
