Pros
  • Technically challenging work.
  • You get a feeling that you are actually doing something.
  • Great place to work if you don't have a life outside work.
Cons
  • Human values and ethics, government regulations, and policies are seen as challenges to overcome, not as something that needs to be incorporated in the culture and respected.

  • While there is collaboration to get things done, you are always alone in your struggle to hold on to your job. You need to be political and make friends. You cannot speak or act against the status quo. You cannot experiment and fail. All of these can lead to losing your job.

  • Nothing is below the line if you can make a profit out of it.

  • There is no psychological safety. Competition within the team, blindly following the leadership, backstabbing, and ignoring human emotions are all normalized.
