I wouldn't consider this to be a downside, but some may do so. Facebook gives a lot of independence to its employees, which means as an employee, you must be proactive in taking up responsibilities and owning them.
If you are the type that likes to be told exactly what to do and how, the culture might be difficult to adjust to.
